What studies found

Capivasertib with abiraterone was approved June 12, 2026 for PTEN-deficient metastatic cancer (CAPItello-281, 1,012 patients). Talazoparib with enzalutamide was approved October 26, 2026 for HRR-mutated metastatic cancer that still responds to hormone therapy (TALAPRO-3, 599 patients).

The catch

Each requires a companion test showing the specific gene change.

What to do

Ask for tumor and inherited genetic testing if your cancer has spread.
