Amivantamab plus lazertinib for advanced EGFR lung cancer
Longer survival than osimertinib, with more side effects.
What studies found
In MARIPOSA (1,074 patients), first treatment with amivantamab plus lazertinib gave 3-year survival of 60% versus 51% with osimertinib alone (hazard ratio 0.75).
The catch
Serious side effects were more common: 80% versus 52% had grade 3 or worse events, and 9% versus 3% had a blood clot in the lung.
What to do
Weigh the survival gain against side effects with your oncologist.
